Booking your place in a Class
If you wish to book a place at one of our classes, you may do so via the online booking form on our website at www.thecakemakery.co.uk. This will take you to our online shop at http://www.thecakemakeryshop.co.uk. You will receive an email confirmation once payment is completed.
All details required to attend the class will be emailed to you at the address you give us when you book your class, this will be sent approximately two weeks before the class takes place.
Payment can be made online via credit card or debit card. You may also purchase a gift voucher for any of our classes.
If you wish to pay by cheque in advance, please contact 07770 433454. We do not accept cash on the day, as all bookings must be made in advance.
Class refund policy
Once you have reserved your place and made payment, we do not offer a refund if you cannot attend.
Our classes can book up fairly quickly, so unless you can send someone else in your place, please make sure you can attend when you make the booking.
Our classes have a maximum of 4 or 6 spaces, the reason we cannot offer a refund is we are a small business, with teachers and assistants to pay, pulling out of a class a few hours, days or even weeks before the class date leaves us in a difficult position as we are unlikely to be able to re-sell your space.
If we were to offer you a space in the next class - this costs us revenue, as we will then not get any revenue for that space, but the teachers still need to be paid!.
So please - when you book - make sure you can attend!
If we have to cancel the class we will offer you an alternative date for the same class. If for any reason we cannot reschedule that class we will offer you a refund in full to the value of the class you paid for.
We have taken every care to ensure the descriptions and photographs on our website accurately represent the quality of our work, and what you can expect from each class.
If you make payment in installments, please note that discounts and offers do not apply. The remaining amount can be paid in further instalments or all in one go, but must be paid no later than 14 days before the date of the class you reserved a space in. If this payment is not received two weeks before the date, we reserve the right to re-open the space for sale and you will lose your deposit.
We sometimes run classes for seasonal events, such as Valentine, Halloween and Christmas. Because these classes will only run for a short time, or be a one-off class, booking a place on such a class is non-refundable.
Gift vouchers can currently be purchased online for any value from £5. Payment can be made via credit card or debit card. If you wish to pay by cheque, please contact 07770 433454. Your voucher will be sent out once your payment has cleared.
Gift vouchers are non refundable, but we are happy for you to transfer them to another person if you contact us and arrange this at least 3 weeks in advance of any class you wish to attend.
Purchasing a gift voucher does not guarantee the recipient a place in any of our classes. The recipient must contact us to confirm the class they wish to attend, we can then check to ensure there are spaces available on their chosen date. Our classes have a maximum of 6 persons per class.
Product refund policy
Refunds will only be paid by means of original payment. Where a payment has been made by cheque, refunds will not be issued until that cheque has cleared. We will not refund onto another card issuer's credit or debit card. Refunds will only be processed upon receipt of returned goods. Postage and packaging costs for returning goods to The Cake Makery will be reimbursed only when goods are found to be faulted or damaged.
Under current distance selling regulations you have the legal right to cancel your order within seven working days of receipt of the goods (with the exception of our PDF guides).
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that returned items reach The Cake Makery in no worse condition than they themselves received them in. Refunds for returns that do not meet this standard may be made at The Cake Makery's own discretion.
Once an order has been processed (i.e. Paid for, and/or packaged, and/or ready for dispatch, or dispatched), cancellation of an order or item will incur a handling fee of 5% of the cost of that order or item. No refunds for postage and packaging will be made. We consider this to be a custom build item subject to the Distance Selling Regulations (2000).
Once an order has been processed (i.e. Paid for, and/or packaged, and/or ready for dispatch, or dispatched), we will not accept any requests to add products or make alterations to the contents of the order. Where possible, if an order has not been processed, additions or alterations may be made at The Cake Makery's discretion. Additions will incur a processing fee of £4.00.
